In a study carried out by the IFEU Institut in Heidelberg, the ecological profile of office papers made in Germany from secondary fibres was compared with those made from virgin fibres. Taking into account the requirements in fossile resources, the greenhouse effect, water and energy consumption and many other important indicators, recycled paper is clearly the better choice and is recommended by the Ministry of the Environment.
