On 5 December 2008 Steinbeis Papier received the German Sustainability Award as one of the three most sustainable companies in Germany. This prize was awarded for this first time at the German Sustainability Convention, presided over by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Horst Köhler. With this award the high profile jury commends the outstanding role which Steinbeis Papier plays both nationally and internationally as a leader in consequent sustainable orientation.
Sustainability as lived out by Steinbeis is exemplary in the fulfillment of the strict criteria for upholding the philosophy of sustainability as examined and required by the jury in both the central company and production areas. The jury particularly praised the high product quality, where high-tech and highest ecological standards are combined intelligently. Protection of the climate and conservation of resources as realized by Steinbeis Papier are trail-blazing for other companies and organizations.
This outstanding award is an award for our customers as well. By using Steinbeis papers they are part of our successful sustainability strategy and at the same time trail-breakers in protecting the climate and conserving the environment.
Way back in the seventies Steinbeis began producing paper from 100% recovered paper and from 1995 onwards the complete paper production is exclusively recycled paper. Having consequently pursued a sustainable production process, Steinbeis Papier is now European market leader in the field of high quality graphic recycled papers.
