New technical managing director at Steinbeis Papier

Glückstadt, 11.03.2021 – Martin Kaltenegger joined Ulrich Feuersinger to become the new managing director of Steinbeis Papier GmbH at its Glückstadt site on 1 March 2021. He is now responsible for the areas of production, technology, and research and development.

“Steinbeis Papier looks back on more than 40 years of experience in ecologically integrated paper production. Our success story is based on a constant innovation mindset. We are evolving technically by digitalising production, which is essential if we are to remain competitive. As our new technical managing director, Martin Kaltenegger fills the vacancy created by the departure of Dr Volker Gehr. He will help us continue to expand technology in the recycled paper producing industry,” explains Ulrich Feuersinger, who is the executive board spokesman and is responsible for finance and accounting, IT, human resources, supply chain management, and sales and marketing.

Martin Kaltenegger is by no means new to the paper industry. Before Steinbeis Papier, the 54-year-old Bavarian worked for LEIPA Group GmbH, a paper and packaging SME whose technology and investment areas he most recently directed. His main responsibility there was the technical development of the Group.

After studying process engineering / paper production, Martin Kaltenegger held various management positions. He was responsible for production at an LWC paper mill for ten years. This was followed by the complex implementation of a paper machine conversion project, which underlined his reputation for leadership and technical know-how. These and various other operational and plant manager activities were what qualified Martin Kaltenegger for the position of managing director at Steinbeis Papier.

“Steinbeis Papier and its employees are setting ecology and sustainability benchmarks in the recycled paper segment and the associated circular economy. I’m looking forward to my new role and am proud to be able to contribute my expertise,” says Kaltenegger about his new position.
