Steinbeis No. 1 to No. 4: Winner of the 1st PBS Report Green Award

Glückstadt, 23.02.2021 – Zarbock Media has presented the first edition of the PBS Report Green Award in its PBS Report magazine. It acknowledges products in the paper, office supplies and stationery industry by bestowing prizes in five categories: Office Supplies & Paper, Writing, Stationery & Lifestyle, Health & Ergonomics, Office Technology & Accessories. Sustainability, environmental protection and ecological action have become key topics in the paper, office supplies and stationery industry. Zarbock Media has recognised this and wants to encourage a conversation around ‘green offices’ with its PBS Report Green Award, while offering a broad platform for sustainable product solutions. Thirty-one businesses took part in the competition and submitted 42 products. With its new ReThinkingPaper brand identity and its product line consisting of Steinbeis No. 1 to No. 4, Glückstadt-based Steinbeis Papier GmbH convinced a jury of experts made up of representatives from the trade and professional institutions, securing the award in the Office Supplies & Paper category.

Steinbeis Papier offers a portfolio of high-quality printing and photocopying papers with its No. 1 to No. 4 products. They are made entirely from recycled paper: not a single tree is felled for their production. Compared with conventional papers made from virgin fibres, Steinbeis No. 1 to No. 4 use up to 72% less energy and 83% less water during production. Carbon emissions are also reduced by 53%. Like all Steinbeis papers, they have been awarded the Blue Angel and EU Ecolabel.

But Steinbeis Papier goes one step further with ReThinkingPaper: these sustainable products carry a brand message that invites a complete rethink of how resources are used. A specially developed communication strategy aims to publicise Steinbeis Papier’s long-standing philosophy of sustainability in an innovative way, both visually and in terms of content. The paper products now no longer have names. Numbers indicate the order of whiteness, from No. 1 to No 4. Striking icons and bold figures provide orientation and make it immediately clear to customers just how many resources they will save by using Steinbeis printing and photocopying papers.

Representatives of Steinbeis Papier were originally set to receive the award at Paperworld 2021 in Frankfurt at the end of January. But the coronavirus pandemic put a stop to that. Instead, the recycled paper manufacturer and ReThinkingPaper feature as winners in the latest print edition of PBS Report (January-February 2021) and online at http://pbs-green-award.de.
